Trump admin plans to take away 700 migrant kids, senator says

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is planning to take away almost 700 Guatemalan kids who had come to the U.S. with out their mother and father, in accordance with a letter despatched Friday by Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon.

The removals would violate the Workplace of Refugee Resettlement’s “little one welfare mandate and this nation’s long-established obligation to those kids,” Wyden informed Angie Salazar, appearing director of the workplace throughout the Division of Well being and Human Providers that’s chargeable for migrant kids who arrive within the U.S. alone.

“Unaccompanied kids are a few of the most susceptible kids entrusted to the federal government’s care,” the Democratic senator wrote, asking for the deportation plans to be terminated. “In lots of instances, these kids and their households have needed to make the unthinkable option to face hazard and separation in the hunt for security.”
