In recognition of the fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 lockdown within the Florida Keys, a panel of native photographers, journalists and filmmakers will talk about and recall the “COVID spring” of 2020, when a pandemic modified the world.

The free panel dialogue and photographic reflection takes place Thursday, March 27 at 6 p.m. on the Tropic Cinema, 416 Eaton St. The COVID lockdown is outlined because the interval in 2020 from March 1, when Florida’s first COVID-19 circumstances have been introduced, to June 1, the day after the quarantine checkpoint within the Higher Keys was dismantled. 

“5 Years Later: Trying Again at Key West’s COVID Lockdown,” is sponsored by the Monroe County Public Library. Panelists embody Chris Sloan, producer of the short-film documentary, “Key West: 66 Days of Paradise Interrupted,” in addition to the photographers and writers who created and contributed to the e book, “Remoted Island – The Key West COVID-19 Spring of 2020,” together with Roberta DePiero, Corey Malcom, Rob O’Neal, Andy Newman and Carol Tedesco. Key West Weekly editor Mandy Miles will average. Admission is free; seating is proscribed and on a primary come, first served foundation within the Carper Theater at Tropic Cinema.
