A Broward County man is receiving jail time after he was charged for snatching lobsters out of season, in response to the Monroe County State Legal professional’s Workplace.
On Aug. 3, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee (FWC) officer Jerry Begera and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Workplace deputy Jason Farr arrested Davie resident Marcos Hernandez Gregorio, of Davie, after discovering a big amount of illegally harvested spiny lobster and different out-of-season species in Monroe County waters.
FWC officers noticed Gregorio within the water close to Islamorada’s Indian Key Fill utilizing gear generally related to lobster harvesting, regardless of the actual fact lobster season had already closed. Upon inspection, officers found he was in possession of a number of undersized lobsters, together with different species taken out of season and by unlawful strategies. On Aug. 20, Gregorio pled no contest earlier than County Choose Sharon Hamilton and was adjudicated responsible on all fees. He was sentenced to 100 days in jail and ordered to pay courtroom prices and fines. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State Legal professional Nick Gastesi.
