A California man was using his bike when he was hit and killed whereas making an attempt to cross the freeway in Islamorada on March 17.
In response to Florida Freeway Patrol, the incident occurred simply after 7 a.m. at MM 82. The 63-year-old bicyclist was making an attempt to cross U.S. 1 when a Toyota pickup, operated by a 28-year-old Florida man, struck him.Â
FHP stated the bicyclist was taken to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, the place he later died of his accidents. FHP doesn’t launch the names of these concerned in accidents.Â
An investigation into the crash lasted for nearly an hour as U.S. 1 was shut all the way down to site visitors. Automobiles had been diverted to the Outdated Freeway as troopers decided what led to the crash. The highway opened to site visitors at 8 a.m.Â
FHP says alcohol just isn’t suspected to be an element within the crash.
