College students at Key West’s latest highschool, CFK Academy on the School of the Florida Keys, bought some unhealthy information final week, when principal Wendy McPherson introduced she is leaving the varsity and the Keys.
The longtime educator and former principal of Marathon Excessive College informed college students that Dec. 6 might be her final day, as her getting older dad and mom’ well being challenges require them to relocate to mainland Florida.
School of the Florida Keys president Jonathan Gueverra informed the Keys Weekly that McPherson’s departure is a component of a bigger and troubling pattern of “locals leaving the Keys for financial and medical causes.”
“She’s actually nice, and I’m sorry to see her go,” Jack Mitchell, a ninth grader at CFK Academy, informed the Keys Weekly final week upon studying the information.
